Answering & Conversation (Intraverbals)

Responding to another person’s words without simply repeating them. Conversation brings this together with listening, initiating and other communication skills.

Child and parent take conversational turns about a train going to the park

What might this include?

Speech, gestures, signs, pictures and AAC can all be valid ways to communicate. Looking into someone’s eyes is not required to show listening or connection.
