Labelling & Commenting (Tacts)

Naming or describing something noticed in the environment. In ABA, this type of communication is often called a tact.

Child points to a toy dog and labels it A dog

What might this include?

Speech, gestures, signs, pictures and AAC can all be valid ways to communicate. Looking into someone’s eyes is not required to show listening or connection.
