Requesting (Mands)
Communicating to ask for something wanted or needed. A mand is defined by its purpose, rather than a particular word or sentence.

What might this include?
- Asking for bubbles
- Requesting help
- Saying stop or asking for a break
- Using a picture or AAC button
Speech, gestures, signs, pictures and AAC can all be valid ways to communicate. Looking into someone’s eyes is not required to show listening or connection.
